Who We Are

Alyssa Martin

Founder and Contributor

Hi! I’m Alyssa. I’m a Christ follower and  wife to a hottie pastor named Michael. We live in small-town Texas where I serve in ministry with my husband at FBC Kopperl. I work full time in marketing at Southwestern Seminary where I am also taking classes towards a Masters in Theological Studies. In my free time, I am a freelance wedding and portrait photographer, love digging for bargains in resale shops and will occasionally shoot a deer with my rugged husband. You can find me reading creative entrepreneurial blogs, seeking out the newest (or oldest) local restaurant or coffee shop, and whipping up something new and flavorful in my kitchen.

Hello, ladies! I’m Andi Clem. I’m a Christ follower, wife to Tyler, and mommy to Liam. Oftentimes you can find me cleaning up toddler spills, folding laundry, or building blocks in our living room floor. Yes, I’m a stay-at-home mom, and I’m thankful for this phase in my life! We live in the itty bitty town of Williamston, South Carolina where my husband is the youth minister at our church. I’m passionate about discipling teenage girls to grow more deeply in love with Christ!

KelseyKelsey Lasher

Hi there, my name is Kelsey. Jesus is the love of my life followed closely by my husband Scott and my two kids, Judah and Annabelle. I have my degree in history which is collecting dust somewhere behind my kid’s baby books while I stay at home and raise them in our perfectly beautiful home state of Colorado. I am passionate about people, especially little ones in footy pajamas, and desire to see them love Jesus deeply. Read more of my writing on my personal blog, While We Mother.

WeddingPhotoAmanda West

Hello! I am Amanda, married to the love of my life, Drew West, and we are seeking Jesus together in the beautiful country of Zambia! He is studying theology at Justo Mwale University and releasing music under the name Oneheart, and together we run around/lead with the youth group at Lusaka Community Church, travel as much as possible, and host friends in our tiny newlywed apartment.  I am also the Connecting Peoples Coordinator at the Mennonite Central Committee Zambia, which means I get to be a part of receiving young people to serve in Zambia, and sending Zambians to serve with our partners abroad each year. I love yoga, girl talk, experimenting in the kitchen, and using my gifts to invest in the lives of others.

Well, hello there! My name is Lauren and I am a follower of Jesus Christ, San Francisco Bay Area native and active storyteller (a fancy way of saying “journalist.”) While in the Bay Area, I love spending time with my animals –two horses, two cats and a sweet old pup– and watching the Bay fog roll in over the hills of my family’s ranch. At school, life is much different. As a senior at California Baptist University and the Editor-in-Chief of the campus magazine, Pursuit, you can find me at anytime reading in a coffee shop or working closely with my fellow editors in the newsroom. I believe in harnessing the media’s influence for the Gospel and believe that storytelling will be a strategic tool used for the growth of His Kingdom. I have no clue what my life after graduation will look like, but I am so excited that Jesus does know and I cannot wait to follow his plan. I am excited to be interning with GLOW and look forward to the ways Jesus will use this platform for his glory. Please feel welcome to reach out to me, I would love to chat!

Family of 6 portraitSarah Tarleton

I am a disciple of Christ, wife to a handsome M.Div. student who loves to preach, and momma to four 5-and-under precious, feisty kiddos who each have their own hashtag on my instagram (#nerdalert). The hubs and I actually met as MKs in Moscow, Russia, and the six years I spent living overseas in Europe and Asia gave me an unquenchable love of traveling, as well as a fierce desire to live my life looking at people through His eyes and loving them with His compassion. In this season of life my days are spent quizzing my husband with Greek flashcards, playing dress-up with my kids as a stay-at-home mom, cooking homemade meals for starving seminary students as dorm mom, and helping lead the MOPS group at my church in Fort Worth, Texas.
