Just let Jesus

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of god.” Hebrews 12:2

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Rainy days are the best for writing and so when I woke up this morning to a cloudy sky I was so excited to get the chance to sit down at my desk and put a few of my thoughts on to paper. Except, when I sat down and started writing, none of my thoughts flowed… like at all. Talk about frustrating! I don’t know if that happens to any of you but it seems to happen to me ALL. THE. TIME. I have this amazing idea in my head but for whatever reason I have the hardest time getting it from my head to the computer… a n n o y i n g.

So here I am, trying to get this thought it my head on to paper to create a post for this blog that is going to be read by ya’ll that will hopefully provoke inspiration and a love for Jesus. (Deep Breath). But, it’s not working. So with my frustration and my bad attitude I close the computer and walk down to the closest coffee shop for a much-needed Pumpkin Spice Latte and on my way back I am so sweetly and gently reminded by our God to just let Jesus speak through me.

Three words is really all it took to get my attention. Three words with so much power yet so much peace. Three words that changed my entire mood and my entire plan for this post. Three words… Just. Let. Jesus.

In a world that is shifting daily by who or what is in control…Just let Jesus. When you’re terrified of where God is calling you… Just let Jesus. When you’re sitting on your couch alone on a Friday night for the umpteenth time…Just let Jesus. When your kids are screaming and you don’t know why… Just let Jesus. In a day that is run by lists, emails and reminders…Just. Let. Jesus.

Just let Jesus do what, you ask? Just let Jesus in. Just let Jesus heal you, or restore you, or encourage you, or calm you or remind you. Because He cares and He so deeply loves you.

I don’t know where you are, what your day looks like or what your situation is but what I do know is that sometimes we don’t need the chaos, or the debate, or the reason… we just need Jesus. So as you go on your day and encounter whatever it has in store for you remember those three words… Just let Jesus. And maybe, just maybe, instead of whirlwinds and frustration, theological debates and reasoning we can have a moment with the Lord that is simple and pure and so holy. Because, at the end of the day all God has called us to, is to just let Jesus be our Lord.

Dear heavenly Father,
As we go on our day I pray that you give us the strength to just let you have control. I pray that for at least a few minutes we can put away all of the extra things of this world to just have a precious and holy moment with you. I pray that we, the Ladies of GLOW, will be known by you and because of you and will have the courage to shine as you have called us to.
