The 12 Days of Christmas giveaway series the past couple weeks has been so much fun! We have enjoyed getting to know each of you more and we feel blessed to be a part of this wonderful community of women.
Today we have partnered up with Appetite Paper. Rachael, the artist behind the design company, has been such an encouragement to us from the very beginning. She has poured her heart out, given her time and even painted scripture prints for the GLOW community. You will be seeing more from her in the future. We are huge fans of her and her work!
Here is a little about Appetite Paper: Hand painted, bespoke stationery designed for modern, whimsical weddings and daily musings. Locally printed and hand made with thoughtful details and carefully selected papers, always assembled with our premium Europeans flap envelopes.
Even more inspiring, here is a little about Rachael: Hello, I’m Rachel! I’m so grateful I get the opportunity to pursue what I love each day through stationery and design. My clients are the favorite part of my day. I’m married to my best friend, and thankful grace is at the center of our marriage. I’ll never pass up a Saturday morning donut (or Chick-fil-a spicy chicken sandwich). Netflix is a good friend of mine, and I feel most home when I’m painting, designing and working with my clients!
Be sure to check out Rachael’s blog here to keep up to date with the happenings over at Appetite Paper.
Finally (you’ll LOVE this), Appetite Paper partners with a passionate non-profit each season! They are currently partnering with The Daughter Project, which provides a safe home and transforming love to precious young women in north-west Ohio. Appetite Paper gives 15% of their profits to support the non-profit. Learn more about this project here.
To celebrate with Appetite Paper, we are giving away 5 Paper Flowers. These flowers are beautifully hand-made by Rachael herself…and best of all….they actually last! The flowers are made with custom dyed crepe paper and detailed beading. Great for any event!

Be sure to also check out the rest of Appetite Paper’s website, she offers custom invitations, save the dates, cards, programs, place card settings, banners, cocktail flags, menus, cake toppers and more! Find Time for Dating: 3 Date Ideas
Life is busy and sometimes that makes it hard to squeeze in quality time with our husbands. There is laundry to be folded, grocery store lists to be bought, and work to be done. I beat myself up over accomplishing everything there is to be done in the day and this turns in to a race against the clock which makes it terribly difficult to squeeze in a date with the hubby. But if we neglect our relationship with our husbands, we become doers of the world rather than experiencing the goodness that comes from being married. You have to make time for each other, even if it is 10 minutes after the kids head to bed, or in our case a thirty minute breakfast before heading off to the airport to catch the flight to our meetings.
Here are a few ideas for squeezing in some alone time with your spouse.
- 2014 Movie Night: Pop some popcorn and YouTube funny videos together. My current favorite is watching all of the lip dub videos of the Taylor Swift song Shake It Off.
- Active date: Forgo the typical movie night and instead hit up the local rock climbing wall or do a drop in fitness class together. It is fun to challenge yourselves to new activity and a little competition is a good thing. When you are done with the activity portion of the date, go grab some frozen yogurt. Let your spouse choose one of the toppings to put on your yogurt!
- Devotional: We like to read the same devotional or inspirational book. Sometimes we read it together, but other times we report back to each other our findings and compare notes. This allows our conversations to be challenged and results in us learning new things about each other. The devotional we are currently reading is the Draw the Circle by Mark Batterson.
The important thing to remember is to be intentional about your time together.
This means placing the date on the calendar and letting the other know that you are wanting to set aside some time to reconnect. So go ahead, put it on the calendar, and let us know what you have planned for your date night. I am always looking for new ideas that are not your typical dinner + a movie combo.
